Everything from how to lose weight to regaining your optimum health. While some are obviously over the top, others may catch your attention and warrant a trial period. Let’s cut to the chase about a few popular trends to see what is worth the money and what probably isn’t.
There have been some concerns about their safety factors. Not enough conclusive evidence to support that GMOs make healthier plants but at the same time, there isn't hard evidence that they are harmful or that the nutritional food value is any different for your body. If you do decide to avoid them, seek foods with the "Non GMO Project Verified" label. Of course, companies use “GMO free” as a marketing ploy. Just because a cookie or muffin doesn't contain GMOs doesn't make it healthy. Read the packaging label and ingredients to determine if it's a wise food.
The recipe calls for low-mold coffee beans, 2 Tb spoons of unsalted butter and 1 to 2 Tb spoons of MCT oil. The coffee that keeps on going….is supposed to give you all day energy, with enough calories, 450 plus, to replace breakfast, suppress hunger pangs and empower the brain. What researchers have found is that aside from being a high price bean and a tasty way to drink coffee there is no real evidence that the bulletproof Coffee diet works.
It has surpassed Canola oil and Peanut oil in popularity by a mile. It is touted to be beneficial for skin care, reverse the effects of Alzheimer’s, boost the metabolism, get rid of head lice as well as all the rage for cooking everything from eggs to fish. Does it deserve its new stardom? There has been no scientific proof that it is the cure all it’s been hyped up to be. It’s fine to cook with it if you like the taste, especially as a replacement for bad oils or lard. Foods that contain coconut oil are okay to purchase, but don’t think that makes them healthy choices. Everything in moderation.
Activated charcoal is usually made from coal, peat, coconut shells or wood, treated to make it very porous, or “activated.” Emergency rooms use it to treat poisonings or drug overdoses. It caught on because of its ability to soak up chemicals in the gut so that they can’t enter into the blood stream. With that school of thought, health gurus surmised it could also trap and rid toxins from the body, like food additives and pesticides. But the charcoal doesn’t know the good nutrients in our bodies from the bad chemicals. There is reason to believe charcoal may keep the good nutrients from entering into our blood stream. Our bodies are built to detoxify so the best thing you can do is drink plenty of water and eat lots of raw vegetables.
The bottom line – make healthy choices when shopping. Buy lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from additives and processed foods. Research all the new trends. Drink lots of water and if you take supplements or natural remedies chose a company that provides professional quality, natural supplement products.
